Mechanoreceptor input from upper cervical segments (OA, AA, A-c3) from C/S muscles have direct access to the Ventral nerve cord (VNC) and superior colliculus. In addition, these input converge in the central cervical nucleus, which has a path to the cerebellum, where vestib, ocular and proprioceptive info is integrated. Thus, sensorimotor control should be considered for all patients with neck pain.

Tip

Ventral Nerve Cord (VNC), which integrates sensory input and locomotor output
